The Brightest Star : Kirby's Dream Zine submission

Packing pure destructive power, it's a Super Ability! Its name: Ultra Sword! It can rend the Earth as it destroys all in its path!


Finally it's finished, after almost 30 hours of work (excluding sketching)... my submission to a Kirby fan zine, made by fans for fans, Kirby's Dream Zine!

I've been very excited about this zine ever since I first found about it and it would be great to get included! Kirby's Return to Dream Land/Adventure Wii is a great game and my favorite in the series up to this point, so I wanted to draw something based on it. Ultra Sword is my favorite out of the Super Abilities, along with Snow Bowl u vu


This is the RGB version, scaled to about half of the original size. I've never worked on such a big canvas before, it was rather nice actually.

This piece actually got selected in the physical copy of the zine!!!! I'm still shocked and almost crying because I'm so happy, I was sure I wasn't going to make it... Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh. Ashley Davis is planning to launch the book in May 2014, so keep your eyes peeled on her website at oddlookingbird.com!
